With over 25 years of experience in training puppies and teaching people in San Francisco, we are passionate about what we do. We have the most extensive knowledge about puppies, dogs, and people in San Francisco and we take immense pride and joy in each new class. We firmly believe that helping people and their pups is one of the best job on Earth!

Our team of Trainers and Assistants:

• Possess excellent interpersonal skills - we genuinely love people as much as we love dogs.

• Have undergone comprehensive training and mentoring from Fawn Pierre at SmartyPup! and other certified animal training and behavior professionals, such as The Dog Trainers Academy, The Karen Pryor Clicker Academy, and of course, ongoing continued education.

• Come highly recommended by veterinarians, fellow dog trainers, and our valued clients.

• Demonstrate qualities of knowledge, honesty, and compassion.

• At SmartyPup!, our goal is to ensure that you thoroughly enjoy the training experience while building a strong, positive, and lasting bond between you and your puppy. Our training sessions are safe, educational, and designed to involve the entire family. We firmly believe in understanding and training puppies as unique individuals and dogs as sentient beings. It is crucial for them to learn to respect people-as-people and learn through early training that people have their best interests at heart. As compassionate and thoughtful trainers, we assist you in establishing a relationship with your puppy based on consistency, trust, respect, and most importantly, fun! Your puppy's emotional well-being is our top priority, and our teachers strive to meet the individual needs of each pup in class, adapting the training to suit your specific lifestyle.

Who is SmartyPup! ?

• SmartyPup!  believes it is essential to understand and train dogs-as-dogs (and puppies-as-babies).
  In turn, they should be taught to respect people as people and learn that people (usually) know what is best. 😉

• We are more than just a puppy school; we are a close-knit network of dog-loving trainers, veterinarians, and owners in San Francisco. Since 1994, our founder Fawn Pierre has had the privilege of working with over 75,000 San Francisco puppies and their dedicated owners.
